Note, this role is located nearHouston, Texas. Our client, a larger hospital approximately 45 minutes from of Houston, LOVES to hire Canadian nurses and Allied Health Professionals from us!! They are currently hiring Medical Lab Technologists and Scientists for afternoon and night shifts. This lab follows a 7 days on, 7 days off schedule. In addition to competitive wages that are regularly reviewed, you will be eligible for a signing bonus, relocation assistance and housing assistance.
IntelliStaff Medical is seeking Medical Laboratory Specialist (MLS)/Medical Laboratory Technician for a full-time permanent position. This position includes immigration assistance to qualified Canadian and Mexican techs as well as licensing services to North American nurses.
With this Medical Laboratory Specialist (MLS)/Medical Laboratory Technician position, you will work as a direct employee of the hospital and receive all the benefits that entails.
Qualifications of MLS/MLT:
- Active RN license in specified state. State licensing assistance is available.
- MLS(ASCP) certification is required.
- Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science.
- Experience with Hologic Panther and Thunderbolt/Quantiferon Gold preferred.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- New graduates will be considered but one year of recent experience as a Medical Laboratory Specialist (MLS)/Medical Laboratory Technician is preferred.
Responsibilities and Duties of a MLT/MLS:
- Provide exceptional, safe, and comprehensive nursing care that follows state, hospital and Join Commission standards, policies, and procedures.
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions
according to departmental standard operating procedures. - Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.
- Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Communicate closely with all members of the medical team.
